Apple TV+ is set to debut its latest comedy series, “Stick”, starring and executive produced by Owen Wilson, on June 4, 2025. The 10-episode series will kick off with the first three episodes, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday until July 23, 2025.
In “Stick”, Owen Wilson plays Pryce Cahill, a former professional golfer whose once-promising career was abruptly cut short twenty years ago. Now struggling with personal failures—including a divorce, financial instability, and a dead-end job at a sporting goods store in Indiana—Pryce gets an unexpected second chance when he meets Santi Wheeler, a rebellious 17-year-old golf prodigy played by Peter Dager. Taking Santi under his wing, Pryce attempts to mentor him, navigating the challenges of redemption, mentorship, and their unlikely bond.
The series features a star-studded supporting cast, including Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant. Adding to the authenticity, professional golfers Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, and Wyndham Clark will make cameo appearances, along with golf broadcasters Jim Nantz and Trevor Immelman.
Created by Jason Keller, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, “Stick” is produced by Apple Studios in collaboration with Propagate Content, Entertainment 360, and Piece of Work Entertainment. Other executive producers include Ben Silverman, Guymon Casady, Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Lee Eisenberg, Natalie Sandy, Christopher Moynihan, and Bill Callahan.
Filming began in May 2024 in Vancouver, where the production operated under the working title “Rambler & the Birdie Machine”, before wrapping up in September 2024.
With its mix of comedy, sports, and heartfelt storytelling, “Stick” aims to bring a fresh and entertaining perspective on golf. Whether you’re a golf fan or just love a good underdog story, this new series is one to watch.
