Who It’s For

These irons are ideal for golfers with a handicap between 5 and 15 who prefer an iron that has the look and feel of a better-player’s club but also provides increased distance and forgiveness.

Key Features

The Cobra King TEC irons are part of the growing category of “better-player distance irons,” which provide the sleek look of a blade but include hidden technology for enhanced forgiveness and distance. Here’s what you need to know about the latest version of the King TEC:

  • Hollow-Body, Forged Design

The King TEC irons are built with a forged 1025 carbon steel body that undergoes a five-strike forging process, enhancing the grain structure for a softer, premium feel.

  • HOT Face Technology

The irons feature Cobra’s HOT Face, a variable-thickness face design that’s thicker in the center and thinner around the edges. The L-shaped face plate wraps around the leading edge, sole, and parts of the toe and top edges, enlarging the sweet spot and maximizing ball speed across a wider area for improved distance and forgiveness.

  • Tungsten Weighting for CG Optimization

Cobra has incorporated a 20-gram tungsten weight in the 4- to 7-irons, lowering the center of gravity (CG) for a higher launch in the longer clubs. In the shorter irons (8 through gap wedge), the tungsten is removed to raise the CG, giving players more control and a lower, controlled ball flight on scoring shots.

  • Enhanced Feel with Urethane Microspheres

The new King TEC irons use urethane microspheres, filled with glass bubbles, to reduce vibrations for a softer, more responsive feel. This material is softer than the previous foam inserts, providing not only comfort but also added ball speed.

  • Modern Lofts for Added Distance

These irons have modern lofts to optimize distance, with the 5-iron at 26 degrees and the pitching wedge at 44 degrees. A 3-iron (19 degrees) and gap wedge (49 degrees) are also available to complete the set.
